US 90 (Mudd Avenue) 0.25 miles west of the Evangeline Thruway, between S. Pierce Street and N. Buchanan Street will be closed on Thursday, October 10, from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., weather permitting. This closure is necessary to allow for the replacement of the railroad crossing. Emergency vehicles will not have access through the work area. The detour route will consist of Ambassador Caffery Pkwy, I-10 and Evangeline Thruway. The detour routes will be posted. Tuesday, November 01, 2022 3:38 PM US 90 Eastbound & US 90 Westbound will be reduced to one lane in each direction beginning Friday, November 4 at 7:00 am. The lane reductions will continue throughout the project and are estimated to last approximately one year. The lane closures will allow crews to start constructing diversion roads in preparation of moving all traffic onto the westbound lanes in a 2-way traffic pattern. Through traffic will be maintained on US 90 Eastbound and Westbound with a 10-foot wide maximum restriction on oversize loads. All on/exit ramps will remain open at this time. The closures are related to the roadway construction project to rebuild the travel lanes on US 90 from LA 14 (Center St) to LA 83 (Weeks Island Rd.) in Iberia Parish. The project will begin west of its interchange with La. 318 and end east of its interchange with La. 83. PROJECT DETAILS Work will consist of following: Milling, pavement patching and asphalt concrete overlay for U.S. 90 mainline and frontage roads Bonded concrete overlay, temporary concrete barriers, median crossover diversion roads and bridge repairs for U.S. 90 mainline Base construction, bridge repairs, asphalt overlay, bonded concrete overlay and concrete pavement for on/off ramps, and related work Work is expected to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the possibility of day and night work seven days a week, weather permitting. US 90/LA 182 (Evangeline Thruway) NB & SB from E. Pinhook Rd. to the Railroad Tracks, Lafayette Parish, Alternating Dual Lane Closures US 90/LA 182 northbound & southbound from E. Pinhook Road to the railroad tracks will have alternating dual lane closures beginning Tuesday, May 28, 2024, until Friday, January 31, 2025, weather permitting and excluding certain holidays. Lane closures will occur weeknights (Monday through Thursday) beginning at 8:00 p.m. and ending at 6:00 a.m. the following morning. Weekend lane closures will begin on Fridays at 8:00 p.m. and extend continuously (daytime and nighttime) until the following Monday at 6:00 a.m. These closures are necessary to allow crews to install handicap ramps and perform concrete pavement patching throughout the project limits. The road will be open to regular traffic with a 12-foot lane restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone. Emergency vehicles will have access to the area but may encounter delays. Work is estimated to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. Drivers should expect delays as alternating lane closures that will be required to perform the work.
