US 61/Airline Highway (ASCENSION PARISH) – There will be a southbound lane closure on US 61/Airline Highway from 2 miles south of LA 22 to 3.5 miles south of LA 22, beginning on Monday, May 6, 2024 concluding on Sunday, June 30, 2024 from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily. This lane closure is necessary to perform a power pole replacement for two power poles located on the west side of US-61 (Airline Highway). No detour routes are necessary however, permit loads over 12’ wide should call the permit office for alternate routes. Construction is underway for State Project H.014865, US 61: LA 74 - LA 42. This project is 5.306 miles in Ascension Parish. The type of work includes milling asphalt concrete, pavement patching, asphalt concrete overlay, striping, loop detectors and related work. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development reminds motorists of this active construction zone on US 61 between LA 74 and LA 42. Motorists have access to travel the roadway, but should anticipate delays due to alternating lane closures on US-61 (Airline Hwy) Northbound between LA 74 and LA 42. Construction is allowable nightly from 8:00 PM – 5:00 AM Mondays thru Thursdays, and on weekends from 8:00 PM Friday – 5:00 AM Monday, weather permitting.
