Traffic incidents and road conditions on LA-3 in Louisiana

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Monday, April 1, 2024, the outside (right) lane of LA 3 (Benton Road) northbound just south of Flowerbrook Street in Bossier Parish will be closed. This lane closure is anticipated to be in place for approximately 30 days, and is necessary to allow an outside contractor to install a deceleration lane at the Safe Harbor development. Deceleration lanes enable a vehicle that is exiting the roadway to decrease their speed to a rate at which it can safely leave the main travel lane. Restrictions/Permits: N/A Alternate Route: N/A This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 7:00 a.m., the southbound outside (right) lane of LA 3 (Benton Road) will be closed from Melrose Avenue to Citizens Bank Drive in Bossier City. This lane closure is scheduled to be in place for approximately four weeks, and is necessary to allow the contractor for the Walter O. Bigby Carriageway project to continue construction on the new roadway that will tie in to Benton Road. The Carriageway project is being managed by the City of Bossier City.
