Traffic incidents and road conditions on LA-8 in Louisiana

Alternating Lane Closures; LA 8: Grant Parish; Red River Bridge Deck Waterproofing; S.P. H.015073 Control Section 151-02 The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, (DOTD), advises the public that on Monday, November 27, 2023, construction will begin on the Red River Bridge on LA 8 in Grant Parish. This work will begin on the Boyce side of the bridge and proceed east for 0.581 miles to the opposite end of the bridge closer to Colfax. The intent of this project is to seal the current bridge deck and other related work. The project was awarded to the low bidder, Sartin Builders, LLC, in the amount of $321,580.00. The work associated with this project should take approximately 60 working days to complete. Permit/Detour Section One full lane will remain open at all times. There are no width restrictions. Safety Reminder All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
