Road Construction on LA-28 Both Directions from Nichols Cemetery Rd to Chauncey
Muse Rd. All lanes closed. Starting 5/6/2024 7:00 AM
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, (DOTD), advises the
public that beginning Monday, May 6th, 2024 at 7:00 am, weather permitting,
construction will begin near the intersection of LA 28 West and St. Clair Road,
starting 0.6 miles west of St. Clair Road and continue east for 1.0 mile. Both
eastbound and westbound inside lanes of LA 28 and the St. Clair Road crossover
will be closed to all traffic during phase one. Phase one (1) of this project is
expected to last until July 2024. This construction project consists of grading,
drainage structures, milling asphalt pavement, asphalt concrete, class II base
course, lime treatment, asphalt concrete roadway, and related work. The contract
was awarded to Progressive Construction Company, LLC in the amount of
$1,338,096.58. Permit/Detour section There are no detours at this time
associated with the lane closures. There will be a lane width restriction of 12
feet for traffic on LA 28. Safety Reminder All construction activity is
weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD
appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please
exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout
for work crews and their equipment. Additional Information Motorists can access
