Road Construction on LA-623 Both Directions from LA-1105 Northbound to LA-1204.
Lane Alternating. Starting 4/24/2024 7:00 AM
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, (DOTD), advises the
public that beginning Wednesday, April 24th, 2024 at 7:00 am, weather
permitting, construction will begin at the intersection of US 165 and LA 623,
and continue on to Camp Livingston Rd (2.376 miles). There will be alternating
lane closures throughout the project during construction. Work is anticipated to
last until the end of June. This construction project consists of micro-milling
asphalt pavement, pavement patching, asphaltic concrete pavement, asphalt
surface treatment and related work. The contract was awarded to Brudd
Construction Company, LLC in the amount of $475,807.93. Permit/Detour Section
There are no detours at this time associated with the lane closures. There will
be a lane width restriction of 12 feet for traffic on LA 623. Safety Reminder
All construction activity is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the
event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and
reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone
areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Additional
