ST. MARTIN PARISH, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and
Development (DOTD) announces the start of a $11.2 million pavement preservation
project to resurface a 6.56-mile section of La. 353 (Lake Martin Road) from La.
94 (Camel Drive) to its intersection with Cypress Island Highway. The project
will include new drainage structures, milling asphaltic concrete, pavement
widening, pavement patching, base course, asphalt overlay, striping, and related
work. The work is estimated to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5
p.m., weather permitting. Intermittent lane closures will be required to perform
the work. Therefore, drivers should expect delays. Emergency vehicles will have
access to this area but may encounter delays. The road will be open to regular
traffic with a 10-foot lane restriction on oversized loads passing through the
work zone. The project will begin in February 6, 2023 and is estimated to be
complete in September of 2023. DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to
please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout
for work crews and their equipment. DOTD has the following resources in place to
