This construction work is necessary to prepare for spot replacements of five bridge sites along LA 132. Thru traffic will be maintained at this time. Road closures will be necessary at a later date upon which this notice will be updated. This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING. The $6.4 million project is set to begin on Wednesday April 12, 2023 with a closure of the bridge, which is located immediately west of the intersection with LA 561. The project includes the removal and replacement of the original bridge – built in 1966 – with a new concrete structure, pavement patching, asphalt overlay, and related work. The entire project is anticipated to be complete in late 2024, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that may impact construction timelines. Alternate route: Detour signage will be in place. Traffic will be detoured via LA 15, LA 135 and LA 132. Restrictions/Permits: Total bridge closure at the specified location. All traffic will need to detour. This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
