Current Traffic and road conditions on US-29 in North Carolina

Right Lane closure on US 29 Northbound for paving and striping 

Beginning Monday April 22, the Northbound and Southbound directions of US 29/70 will be reduced to one lane until approximately November 2026 while Smith Rowe LLC constructs a new bridge over Norfolk Southern railroad.  The single lane configuration will begin just south of Old Thomasville Rd at the Davidson / Randolph County line and extend approximately 1000 feet for both directions of travel.  Beginning Monday April 29, the exit ramp from US 29 North/US 70 East to Old Thomasville Rd will close for approximately 12 months.
