Traffic incidents and road conditions on US-264 in North-Carolina

The Douglas Crossroads intersection will be upgraded to a Roundabout. Construction began in February of 2024. Traffic will be maintained during the course of the project, with several lane closures and traffic shifts as the project progresses. As of Monday April 8th, 2024, traffic at the Douglas Crossroads Intersection will begin being shifted slightly Northward and designated turn lanes are being removed. The caution lights at the intersection are to be deactivated shortly thereafter. Vehicles are advised to lower speed and follow all work zone traffic control signs and devices.

Installation of Reduced Conflict Intersections (RCIs) from Harding Village Rd to .32 miles west of Douglas Cross Roads to enhance safety by eliminating left turns and redirecting drivers from side roads into turning right onto busy main roads utilizing concrete islands and bulb-outs.
