Smith-Rowe will be demo EBL of existing bridge and rebuild a new structure. Eastbound bridge on NC-49 is closed. Westbound bridge on NC-49 remains open to traffic in a two-lane-two-way pattern.
I recommend placing an 11.0’ wide restriction on any vehicle approaching on the existing/westbound NC 49 bridge in the Rowan/Davidson/ Stanly Counties project to ensure the safety of other vehicle traveling in the opposite direction and the workers that are on site.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
