North Carolina Highway 24 Traffic Accidents, Road Closures & Incidents

Contract crews will be switching EB 24/27 traffic onto the westbound bridge structure to allow for eastbound bridge to be demolished and rebuilt. Traffic will be down to one lane in each direction through this stretch of 24/27. 

Traffic is being diverted onto a two-lane, two-way pattern on the existing westbound bridge for demo and construction of a new eastbound bridge. Lanes will be narrowed and wide loads greater than 12' wide will need to use alternate routes.
