We will be closing the Flyover bridge from I-440 East, Exit 16, to I-40 East Saturday, 12/9/23 from 7 AM until Noon to complete final pavement markings on the bridges. The detour route is to take I-440 to Rock Quarry Road and return to I-40 East.

Congestion
Contractors will be performing roadway rehabilitation work between Exit 5 (Lake Boone Trail) and Exit 10 (Wake Forest Road). Workers will be working on the shoulder daily, Monday through Friday and conducting lane closures nightly, Sunday through Thursday.

Shoulder Closed
Both inside and outside shoulders are closed with barrier wall on I-440 between Exit 4 (Wade Ave) and Exit 1 (I-40) and on US-1 between Exit 1 (I-40) and Exit 101 (Walnut Street). This work is in place to widen I-440 to Six lanes and upgrade all interchanges. Occasional traffic shifts, ramp closures, and night time lane closures will also occur through the life of the project.
